I understand that people have their own issues to work through (gods know I have plenty) but if you see a god as being "abusive" or an abuser to his/her consort, then why the fuck would you worship him?

I completely don't get people. At. All.

I mean, I worship the gods because I like them and I feel that they exemplify qualities which make them worthy of worship. Why would you worship gods otherwise? Fear? I can't help but wonder if these people are coming from backgrounds where they are taught that you have to "appease" gods and they'll strike you down if you don't.

Such "gods" to me would be too juvenile to worship.
